Brian Johnson Bio

Brian Johnson, the founder of Good Shepherd Ministries, was born July 2nd, 1963 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. His grandparents were self-sustained farmers who raised various livestock including chickens, pigs, cows, goats, and ducks, as well as a garden with vegetables. Johnson and his grandparents made their living off the farm animals and garden. They sold items such as goat milk, and canned fruits and vegetables to eat during colder seasons.

Johnson is using the skills he learned on from his grandparents to teach orphans about self sustainability. Good Shepherd Ministries, a 501c nonprofit he started in 2017, collects donations in order to buy animals and supplies to give to people in need, and Johnson teaches them how to care for the animals and crops so they can become self-sustainable. Johnson says God called him to do this work; he says “What you love is what God created you to do.”
